Behind Debra’s Veil Design Process

Every design starts with inspiration. Debra draws inspiration from her travels, movies, musicals, songs, vintage Hollywood and current bridal trends. Debra sometimes sketches her desigins but other times she has a picture in her head of what she wants the piece to look like and begins by working directly with the material.

Then, the tulle is cut to the shape Debra has chosen for the veil. Once the tulle has been cut, the the design or embellishment can be added. For hand painted veils Debra creates the original design on pieces of tulle and then lays the pattern out on the tulle to get a sense of placement for the design, If the piece has text on it, she uses a paper stencil to figure out placement. She then uses the camera on her phone to get a zoomed-out view of the piece and to see how the design will photograph.

Fun fact: Debra creates all of the original prototypes for PARIS pieces. Once Debra has completed the prototype, the piece can be replicated by our artists. Debra's prototype lives in our collection to be replicated every time a bride or salon orders a piece.

All PARIS accessories are designed by Debra and replicated in this fashion by our experienced artists in Cincinnati, OH, so you can trust they are of the utmost quality. To see more of our hand painted veils, email info@parisstyles.com.
